background: This gene encodes a member of the von Willebrand factor A domain containing protein family. This family of proteins is thought to be involved in the formation of filamentous networks in the extracellular matrices of various tissues. This protein contains five von Willebrand factor A domains. The specific function of this gene has not yet been determined. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] Function: Involved in matrix assembly. Subcellular Location: Secreted. Post-translational modifications: Phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR. Similarity: Contains 10 EGF-like domains. Contains 2 VWFA domains. Paraformaldehyde-fixed, paraffin embedded (Mouse brain); Antigen retrieval by boiling in sodium citrate buffer (pH6.0) for 15min; Block endogenous peroxidase by 3% hydrogen peroxide for 20 minutes; Blocking buffer (normal goat serum) at 37°C for 30min; Incubation: Anti-Matrilin 2 Antibody, conjugated (bs-18693R-FITC) 1:400, 1.5 hours at 37°C; DAPI (5ug/ml, blue, C-0033) was used to stain the cell nuclei.
